This basil originates from Mexico.
The leaves have a hint of purple and are highly cinnamon-scented when rubbed.
The leaves can be used in spicy dishes, curries and salad dressings.
It can also be used in Thai dishes. Add towards the end of cooking.
Plant somewhere sheltered from the wind in rich, fertile, well-drained soil in full sun.
