Lemon basil has a highly fragrant fresh citrus aroma. It makes a delicious addition in summer drinks and cocktails. It adds a touch of fresh citrus to salads and goes well with chicken, fish, fruit salads and herb vinegars.
Pinch off the flower heads to encourage leaf growth; however, the flowers can also be added to salads and pasta dishes for extra fragrance.
Plant somewhere sheltered from the wind in rich, fertile soil in full sun.
