This plant can be found growing wild in Israel and Jordan. It is very aromatic with a strong flavour. It is popular in Italian and Greek cooking and combines particularly well in tomato-based sauces. Add the leaves dried or fresh to soups, stuffing, tomato sauces, pasta, vegetables, pizza, spaghetti bolognese and milk-based desserts.
Plant in fertile, well-drained soil in full sun.
